DMIT has detected elevated packet loss on the AS9929 (China Unicom premium) backbone in its Los Angeles (LAX) region, starting around 06:38 UTC on October 20 (14:38 Beijing time). The incident is rated minor and is under investigation. DMIT has contacted China Unicom and is waiting for the carrier's investigation, and will share updates as they become available. LAX customers using AS9929 routes to mainland China may see higher packet loss in the meantime.
DMIT Rolls Out CVE-2026-99999 Kernel Patch Across All Regions; Tokyo Upgrade Brings Up to 120 Minutes of Downtime

DMIT is deploying a self-compiled online kernel patch to mitigate CVE-2026-99999 on all host nodes across all regions between October 19 and October 23, 2026. No downtime is expected outside the Tokyo region, though if a reboot becomes necessary, VMs may be down for up to 120 minutes. Separately, DMIT began a scheduled software and kernel upgrade in the Tokyo region at 16:00 Beijing time on October 19 (08:00 UTC), as Tokyo had been running one major version behind other regions. Downtime is up to 120 minutes per VM.
