netcup Brings Web Hosting Control Panel Back Online After Plesk Patch, Completing PHP Vulnerability Recovery

netcup has restored access to its Web Hosting Control Panel (WCP), the last system still offline after the critical PHP vulnerabilities CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619. Plesk released an updated version, which netcup rolled out to all systems and validated before reopening the panel at about 10:09 Beijing time on October 22. All web hosting packages, including reseller accounts, and all managed servers had already been patched and brought back online earlier, and netcup has marked the incident as resolved. VPS and root server customers who run PHP themselves still need to apply the security update on their own systems.

netcup says all systems it took offline as a precaution over the critical PHP vulnerabilities CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 were patched and fully available again as of 11:45 p.m. on October 21 (German time). Customer data remained intact and netcup reports no evidence of exploitation on its systems. Only the Web Hosting Control Panel (WCP) stays offline until Plesk releases a patch; websites and email are not affected. Web hosting and managed server customers need no action. Root Server, VPS and Managed Cloud Cluster users who run PHP themselves should install the security update immediately.

netcup Takes CCP, Webhosting and Managed Servers Offline Over Critical PHP Vulnerability

netcup has taken all potentially affected systems offline as a precaution after the disclosure of critical PHP vulnerabilities (CVSS 9.2). Currently unavailable: webhosting packages, Managed Servers, the Customer Control Panel (CCP), WCP, webmail, the forum and the CloudDNS API. Still available: the Server Control Panel (SCP), Root Servers, VPS and Managed Cloud Clusters. netcup says customer data is intact and expects systems to return 3 to 5 hours after the PHP security update is released (expected around 22:00 Beijing time on Oct 21). Customers running PHP themselves on a Root Server or VPS should install the update as soon as it is available.

netcup Overhauls Support After 10–14 Day Ticket Backlog: AI-Assisted Replies, New Support Form, Hotline Reopened

netcup management acknowledged that support response times have reached around 10 to 14 days. Order volume rose since early summer despite scaled-back promotions, and daily tickets grew from a three-digit to a low four-digit number from mid-July. Measures announced: over the next few days a large share of open tickets will be answered by an AI model running on netcup's own infrastructure, clearly labeled, while billing, cancellation, abuse and security topics stay human-only; replying to an automated answer hands the case to a staff member. New requests should go through the Helpcenter support form (no login needed); mail to the old general address now auto-redirects to the form, and replies come from a new support address. The form will later move into the Customer Control Panel (CCP), with all ticket history eventually visible there. The phone hotline, closed for several weeks, was reactivated on October 6, the website chatbot will gain logged-in account support, and the support team keeps expanding.

netcup Vienna Datacenter Outage Resolved

netcup reported a site-wide disruption at its Vienna (Wien) location beginning around 21:00 CEST on 28 September 2026. The issue was under investigation, and a follow-up at 21:25 CEST stated the outage had been successfully resolved. Customers with remaining questions were directed to support.
