Vultr Announces Chennai, India as Its 34th Cloud Data Center Region

Vultr has announced Chennai, India as its 34th global cloud data center region. The site will host one of the world's largest AMD Instinct superclusters, starting at 20 MW of AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs, with further expansion planned for 2027 featuring next-generation MI455X GPUs and the AMD Helios rackscale solution. Chennai customers will also have access to the Vultr Cloud Alliance pre-built stacks. Vultr did not give a specific date for when general cloud compute plans become orderable in the region.
Vultr Schedules Software Upgrade Maintenance Across Its Locations

The window runs from 00:15 to 04:15 Beijing time on October 20 (16:15–20:15 UTC on October 19). Vultr says the work is part of its ongoing effort to maintain its hosting environment; customers in affected locations should plan around the window.

Vultr reported a network outage affecting services in the Mumbai location (alert ALRT-2GH65J8), beginning around 2026-10-02 16:25 UTC. Network engineers worked with onsite technicians to restore services. The incident has since been marked resolved / Mumbai returned to OK on the status page.

Pre-orders are open, with deployments targeted from Q4 2026 and reserved capacity available through 2027–2028.
