The incident is rated minor and is under investigation. DMIT has contacted China Unicom and is waiting for the carrier's investigation, and will share updates as they become available. LAX customers using AS9929 routes to mainland China may see higher packet loss in the meantime.

DMIT is deploying a self-compiled online kernel patch to mitigate CVE-2026-99999 on all host nodes across all regions between October 19 and October 23, 2026. No downtime is expected outside the Tokyo region, though if a reboot becomes necessary, VMs may be down for up to 120 minutes. Separately, DMIT began a scheduled software and kernel upgrade in the Tokyo region at 16:00 Beijing time on October 19 (08:00 UTC), as Tokyo had been running one major version behind other regions. Downtime is up to 120 minutes per VM.
DMIT Requires Social-Login Customers to Set an Account Password

Starting October 15, 2026, DMIT customers who registered through social media accounts and have not yet set a password will be required to set one. A prompt will appear at login, with a grace period of 7 to 30 days depending on the account's registration date. If no password is set by the end of the grace period, some client area functions will be suspended.

DMIT Opens Self-Service Cogent IP Switching and Clarifies Billing

DMIT updated its “Transition to Self-Managed IP Addresses” notice on September 29, 2026 (04:48 UTC). Key points: LAX Pro and LAX EB can now self-switch to a paid Cogent IP (154.x) via the product control panel Network tab (“Upgrade to paid IP”). The fee remains USD 1 per IPv4 per month and starts from the switch day for self-switches; customers already on Cogent IPs are charged from December 1, 2026 on renewals. HKG and TYO existing Cogent IPs will later be migrated in batches to standard IPs (schedule TBD). Completed IP changes are final.

On August 31, DMIT reported high packet loss on the AS9929 backbone affecting LAX.EB (Eyeball) services. LAX.Pro (Premium) inbound quality was also reduced. China Unicom inbound traffic was temporarily rerouted via GTT; latency and packet loss returned to normal levels. DMIT will restore the original AS9929 path once the backbone issue is resolved.
