On August 31, DMIT reported high packet loss on the AS9929 backbone affecting LAX.EB (Eyeball) services. LAX.Pro (Premium) inbound quality was also reduced. China Unicom inbound traffic was temporarily rerouted via GTT; latency and packet loss returned to normal levels. DMIT will restore the original AS9929 path once the backbone issue is resolved.

DMIT's proactive security monitoring found that about 2% of tenants in the Los Angeles (LAX) data center were running potentially risky TCP 443 applications that generated massive outbound traffic toward China. DMIT suspects attackers may be exploiting a design flaw in these applications to relay large-scale legitimate requests to OpenAI. Affected VMs have been shut down immediately; impacted customers will be notified by email and must resolve the issue within 24 hours. Transfer quota consumed by the abnormal traffic will not be restored.

Due to rising global hardware costs, DMIT has suspended the sale of the AN5 series. As a transitional measure, the LAX AN4 series, featuring AMD EPYC 9004 CPUs, will temporarily maintain the original pricing of the AN5 series, though price increases or sales suspensions may occur in the future. Existing subscriptions remain unaffected unless manually changed by the customer. Moving forward, DMIT plans to expand the AS3 series to provide a more cost-effective alternative. Regarding network performance, the Pro series guarantees CN2 GIA return routing with latencies to mainland China ranging from 160ms to 200ms, while the EB series utilizes CMIN2 and AS9929 for optimized return routing.
